MTV Senior VP of series development Liz Gateley says MTV's shooting a pilot for a show based off the movie saying, "It has more of an American Werewolf in Paris feel to it. It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques."




The show is said to be completely different from the original.




MTV's hopping off the reality TV hoopla in exchange for substance? You don't say!

R KELLY NEW ALBUM CALLED "UNTITLED"

The Pied Piper is back & is bringing a new album called Untitled with him!

R Kelly went about creating his comeback album a different way by throwing parties at his house to test his songs to see what worked, what made the ladies dance and what got the people on their feet & even went so far as to work with Southern producers to tweak his old school R&B style while generating a new edgy yet R Kelly sound.

He invited lots of industry people to his house over the weekend to listen to his new music & sources say that while on the tour of his studio, they found it to be very small with no vocal booth; instead there was just a microphone, a mirror right next to it and a keyboard that Kelly performs on and on top of that, they discovered he never writes any of his music down!

The Pied Piper’s explanation on the mirror:

That’s ego, I’m not going to lie. If I can’t really feel myself, you know I like to go upstairs and change my clothes and get swagged out and put on my little stoney glases and get me a stogie and I look in the mirror at myself sometimes and I can write and then the song will come. I’m looking in the mirror and I’m seeing Kells now, I’m not seeing Rob the mama’s boy. If I see Kells swagged out, then I say this is right right here. You have to have enough ego to be confident enough to get yo swag on while your writing certain songs. It doesn’t really hurt to look at yourself and really get into it.

Since you don’t write down your songs how do you relay the lyrics to people?

Some of them understand my process. Whitney that’s like my sister, we get into it all the time but she didn’t understand the process and Toni Braxton didn’t understand the process. You have to talk about them and crack on them. I’m a “mama jokes” specialist. Sometimes you got to get to cracking and ribbing on people to let them know how real yo a** is and ghetto you is and then once you get that out the way…

Kells: Now say this [starts singing] As I Lay Me Down… now say that

Whitney: what the f*ck you mean say that…. that’s all you got…

Kells: Hell yeah, that’s all I got but just say that for right now, you gone have to trust me some [ continues singing... "I Look To You"] and then now when it all starts to come together halfway through the song… Now yo a** wants to believe me… yeah whatever.

Is there anyone that you haven’t worked with that you would like to work with?

I want to get in with Stevie [Wonder] man… I want to get in with Stevie but I really want to get in with Stevie Wonder because Stevie continues my legacy and then I can continue his legacy. And then Stevie of course, he’s done so many hits, its like sometimes its hard to get with somebody else that’s going to continue your legacy. It was pretty hard for me and I understand I got to go to Atlanta to work with these new and younger producers and stuff if I want to stay current. I realize that I got something to give them too, I got something to feed to them but I got to realize they can feed me too. So its like hard to let your ego down and you’ve written so many hits for yourself and did everything, keyboard, production, everything yourself. It’s hard to all of a sudden say… Hold on Kells… so I think it was pretty hard for Stevie to just say, “Oh wait a minute, I got to do this with another younger guy.” Then Happy People kind of died out and then I ended up putting it on the Stepper’s Album. So it was cool though.

Kellz was also in the process of writing about five songs for Michael Jackson (a close friend) when he passed away and plans on finishing that project.

Untitled will be released on October 13th and a 36 city tour called Ladies Make Some Noise will kick off on October 8th right before the album drops.

Looks promising!

SARA STOKES STABBING & CHRIS BROWN UPDATES

That Chris Brown song that was leaked call A Changed Man is not the first single off his new album. Reps at JIVE Records confirmed that that song & any other songs leaked on the internet recently are old tracks Brown has done.

So the whole Sara Stokes stabbing her husband thing has a new twist to it & TMZ is reporting it:

The former MTV reality star accused of putting a knife through her husband’s arm earlier this month claims the whole thing is a misunderstanding — the dude stabbed himself! TMZ spoke with the manager for former “Making the Band 2″ star Sara Stokes, who told us a completely different story than the one we heard from law enforcement. Here’s the breakdown:

Stokes’ Version — The incident started by the pool, when Sara innocently tripped and hit her face. Her husband tried to get something to clean her off and accidentally cut his arms on knives in the kitchen sink.

Law Enforcement Version — It started when Sara stormed out of her house after a screaming match with her husband, she fell over and blamed him for tripping her — grabbed a knife and stabbed the crap out of his arm while their 3 children watched the whole thing.

Little bit of a difference there, huh? But there’s more — Stokes claims the reason she accused her husband of tripping her was because she “suffered a concussion when she fell and was confused.” Stokes’ rep tells us the couple is “back together, ” “happy” and looking forward to the “truth coming out in court.”

She has her first book coming out later this year which will include details about her life, her issues with self-esteem, her career in music, tv and movies, as well as a look into her love life. Then a few months after and into the new year, we can all see her in Tyler Perry's sequel Why Did I Get Married Too & the best for last, a new album which she's working on with legendary producers; the ones who were responsible for all the great music she put out at the start of her career, Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis. The album is slated to be released the first quarter of 2010.

Janet should've teamed up with those two, 2 albums ago!

In other movie news, the hotness Justin Timberlake will be starring in a new movie called The Open Road slated to be released sometime next year.

The movie centers on the adult son of a baseball legend who, together with his girlfriend, embarks on a road trip with his estranged father.

According to the NY Daily News, there's a rumor that The Sopranos will be turning into a movie!




The Sopranos' producer David Chase isn't entertaining the idea about the possibility of a movie in the works, but some cast members are suggesting that a script is already developing!

The major holdup of the project some believed is due to James Gandolfini's reluctance to take part in the flick! However, according to Lorraine Bracco, that is not the reason saying, "I think it's really trying to get the right script. Without the right script, it's really not worth doing. We've all talked to David to give him a kick in the booty to get it right."

Another Soprano's alum and Bruce Springsteen bandman Steve Van Zandt opened his mouth hinting to the possiblity to a Belfast newspaper that his character Sil is very much "still alive".

Lemme tell you. The flick will surely rake in, in the box office!

Okay so maybe not so much a magazine but it might as well be one!



Mariah Carey's upcoming release Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel is going to be reproduced with a 34 page booklet by Elle Magazine!



But if you think MC will be gracing the pages you've thought wrong. The booklet will look as if it was a copy of Elle, complete with a Mariah like editorial and full page ads from designer and company names like Elizabeth Arden, Le Metier de Beaute and the Bahamas Board of Tourism.




Is Island Def Jam in need of promotional loot? Is that why they did this? At least have Mariah in the damn pages!

BABY SAYS CASH MONEY WILL RELEASE 6 ALBUMS

In a recent interview with AllHipHop, Cash Money Record’s co-founder Baby revealed that the label's planning to release up to six albums total between September and October of this year.

Baby gave fans an idea of who's album will be coming out after who's saying, “We’re putting out five albums, we gonna do a blow out, Drake album, my album, Young Money, Wayne album. We gon’ put ‘em all out in one month, September going into October. G. Malone and 2 Pistol probably come out in between all of that.”

That's a whole lotta Cash Money at one time! I know the thugs are lovin it.
