Keep in mind the toxicology reports aren't in yet, so there isn't a definitive answer as to how DJ AM died.
However, People Magazine's reporting that he may have deliberately tried to kill himself, a conclusion made from the evidence found at the scene:
When AM was found in his apartment, he had eight undigested OxyContin pills in his stomach and a ninth in his mouth!
The one unswallowed pill suggests that he was taking the pills quickly, too quickly for his body to be able to handle. Also, directly next to his body, investigators found a crack pipe. When his body was shifted, crack was found underneath him.
Along with drugs, DJ AM had propped a mirror against the front door of the apartment along with the door to his bedroom, making it more difficult for officials to get to him. He also had several personal items scattered out in the open near his body, including photos and love notes from his girlfriend, Haley Wood. The two had recently split up and when DJ AM was found, close to his person was a Valentine's Day card that read: "Thank God you're in my life. I love you."
A law enforcement source reveals that this type of evidence could be linked to a suicide attempt, though at the moment, without any autopsy or toxicology results, it is still being treated as an accidental overdose.
DJ AM's girlfriend recently sent out a statement saying that the two were very much together when he passed & the horriblemade up stories about them breaking up and her being the reason he died are all untrue!
Upon being away, I heard the devastating news of one of my all time favorite DJ's DJ AM passing away in his NYC apartment on Friday.
AM, 36 who's real name is Adam Goldstein narrowly escaped a fatal plane crash with drummer Travis Barker last year but suffered severe 2nd degrees burns & was taking prescriptions medicines for it up until the day he died.
According to reports, DJ AM on the day he passed away, sent a text message to two friends about a Las Vegas gig he had that day at Rain Nightclub at the Palms.
Sixteen hours later, his friends called 911 because the deejay could not be reached before his scheduled flight since he was he was not answering his cell phone. Then according to a police source, the NYPD broke down the door to his SoHo apartment to find him dead, laying flat on his bed with a pair of sweatpants on and no shirt. 7 bottles of prescription pills including Xanax were found on his counter alongside a crack pipe!
Police are waiting on the toxicology reports, which can take weeks to know once and for all how he died.
Reports are also saying that AM had been battling depression lately and thought his depression was a result of trying to stop taking pain medication since his tragic plane accident.
However friends & family are all saying the drug stories are untrue & how DJ AM had been sober for 8-9 years since his crack addiction and had been shooting a show for MTV called Gone Too Far about young teenagers battling drug addictions and trying to get help!
But the eeriest part of this whole tragedy was the foreshadowing of his own death. AM had written a line from a Grandmaster Flash song on his Twitter before coming to NY, "New york, new york. Big city of dreams, but everything in new york aint always what it seems."

Law enforcement sources directly connected with the death of DJ AM tell us that his death was the result of…… an accidental overdose and not a suicide — and there is a tragic, ironic twist of fate:
Our sources say DJ AM, a recovering addict, developed a dependency to Xanax and other benzodiazepines (a group of drugs used to treat anxiety) as a direct result of the plane crash he was in almost a year ago. We’re told AM (aka Adam Goldstein) developed a tremendous anxiety over flying — something he had to do frequently for his job. We’re told doctors began prescribing Xanax and other anti-anxiety medications to relieve his fear, but the benzos triggered a relapse into addiction. We’re told benzos are particularly dicey for recovering addicts.
Our sources say DJ AM’srelapsewas “recent” — he was not abusing for a prolonged period of time before his death. We’re also told the OD had “absolutely nothing to do with his recent breakup.” Our sources say the evidence strongly indicates cause of death will be a o combination of crack cocaine and benzos.
Here are the sequence of events, broken down, from the night MJ died:
June 25: At about1:30 a.m., Murray again tried to get Jackson to sleep without propofol and gives the singer a 10-milligram tablet of Valium, but Jackson is unable to sleep.
• Around 2 a.m.: Murray injects Jackson with two milligrams of lorazepam, pushed slowly into the singer's IV. But again, Jackson can't sleep.
• Around 3 a.m.: Murray then gives two milligrams of midazolam to Jackson, also pushed slowly into the IV. Jackson remains awake.
• Around 5 a.m.: Murray gives the singer another two milligrams of lorazepam but Jackson still can't sleep.
• Around 7:30 a.m.: Murray administers another two milligrams of midazolam. Murray claims he is continuously at Jackson's bedside, monitoring the singer with a pulse oximeter [connected to Jackson's finger] and measuring his pulse and oxygen statistics. But Jackson remains awake.
• Around 10:40 a.m.: Murray gives Jackson 25 milligrams of propofol diluted with lidocaine to keep Jackson sedated after repeated demands for the drug by the singer. Jackson finally falls asleep, and Murray continues to monitor him.
• After 10 minutes: Murray states he left Jackson's bedside to use the restroom and is gone for no more than two minutes. Upon his return, Murray finds Jackson not breathing. Murray begins CPR, and gives Jackson 0.2 milligrams of flumazenil, an antidote for certain overdoses. Using his cell phone, Murray calls Jackson's personal assistant, Michael Amir Williams, and asks him to send security upstairs for an emergency.
Murray continues CPR– and before security arrives – he leaves Jackson and runs to the hallway and downstairs to the kitchen, where he asks the chef to send up Jackson's 12-year-old son, Prince Michael I. Murray continues CPR. The boy arrives upstairs and summons security.
•At 12:21 p.m.: Jackson staff member Alberto Alvarez dials 911, and the Los Angeles Fire Department responds on the scene shortly thereafter. Murray waits for the ambulance while conducting CPR, and later accompanies Jackson to the hospital.

Police have raided an apartment leased to Jadakiss in Yonkers, NY.
Authorities seized 5 grams of heroin, 6.5 pounds of marijuana and $40,000 cash!
The police got a search warrant for the apartment after an incident on Friday where they saw an individual in a car that smelled like marijuana. They arrested 25-year-old Alberto Lajara and charged him with fifth degree criminal possession of marijuana and disorderly conduct.
A passenger, Gabriel R. Henriquez, 39, attempted to run and was subsequently charged with felonious second-degree criminal possession of marijuana and second-degree assault as well as second-degree obstructing governmental administration, a misdemeanor.
According to sources, Jadakiss was not at the home at the time of the raid and he is not wanted by police.

The coroner's report from MJ's death has been leaked & it's now ruled that Michael's passing was a homicide!
According to the Associated Press:
The Los Angeles County coroner ruled Michael Jackson’s death a homicide Monday after a search warrant affidavit revealed that Jackson had lethal levels of the powerful anesthetic propofol in his system when he died.
The document unsealed Monday allowed officials to raid the Houston offices and storage facility of Dr. Conrad Murray last month.
According to the warrant, Murray, Jackson’s personal physician, had been treating the singer for insomnia with the sedative for six weeks. According to the document, Murray said he had been trying to wean Jackson off the powerful sedative by using smaller doses in combination with the sedatives lorazepam and midazolam.
On the morning Jackson died, Murray said he tried to induce sleep without using propofol, starting first with valium at 1:30 a.m. When Jackson was still awake at 2 a.m., Murray injected Jackson with lorazepam, then injected him with midazolam at 3 a.m. Murray told police he administered several other drugs over the next few hours.
By 10:40 a.m., Jackson, still unable to sleep, urged Murray to give him propofol. Murray said in court documents that he administered 25 milligrams of the drug at that time, then left Jackson alone under the influence of the drug to make phone calls to his Houston office. When he returned, Jackson was not breathing. He performed CPR while a member of Jackson’s staff called 911. The singer was rushed to UCLA Medical Center where he was declared dead sometime later.
The affidavit says, while Murray acknowledged to police that he administered propofol, authorities find no evidence that he had purchased, ordered or obtained the medication under his medical license or Drug Enforcement Administration tracking number. Police detectives found about eight bottles of the anesthetic in Jackson’s house along with other vials and pills that had been prescribed to Jackson by Dr. Murray, Dr. Arnold Klein and Dr. Allan Metzger.
Valium, lorazepam, clonazepam, tamsulosin and other drugs also were confiscated in the search, and propofol was found in Murray’s medical bag. According to the warrant, Murray told police he was not the first doctor to administer propofol to the singer.
Authorities subpoenaed medical records from Klein, Metzger and Dr. David Adams, in addition to Murray, the affidavit states. They also asked for medical records from Dr. David Slavitt, who conducted the independent medical examination of Jackson for Anschuntz Entertainment Group, Dr. Randy Rosen and nurse practitioner Cherilyn Lee.
The affidavit also states that Jackson told Murray that two doctors in Germany had given him propofol. Murray said he repeatedly asked Jackson what other physicians were treating him and what drugs they were prescribing. Murray said Jackson refused to give the information.

Katherine Jackson is working hard to counter MJ's will so she would become the guardian of his $500 million estate.
Although toxicology reports aren't out yet, all signs are pointing to the drug Propofol as the cause of death.

You know the week can't start out right without discussing the latest details in the Michael Jackson case.
Michael's death could very well turn into a criminal investigation according to LA Police Chief William Bratton.
Bratton told CNN that his department is awaiting the coroner's final report to decide whether to proceed with the investigation as a homicide case or as an accidental drug overdose.
Dr. Conrad Murray and Dr. Arnold Klein have not been cooperating with authorities police say. The two were asked to hand over all of their documents and files to investigators but both failed to give up all their information.
As previously stated,Jackson had dozens of injection marks and punctures all over his body the day he died. Law enforcement sources say that some of the injections were old and some were fresh. They were found on his upper arms, upper legs, ankles, inside around his knees and the neck.
A doctor who treated Michael claimed the singer self-injected Demerol into his system.
Retired L.A. County Sheriff's deputy Michael Laperruque who worked as Jackson's security said some doctors were trying to get Jackson off of Demerol, and that one of the doctor's in Santa Barbara "was upset with him because he had been self-injecting."
Laperruque told detectives he had picked up Jackson's prescriptions for the singer, usually under the name Chris Carter. Carter was one of Jackson's bodyguards.
Laperruque also told detectives one time when he was at Neverland his job was to keep Jackson's family out because they were planning an intervention.
Most of the prescriptions for Michael were under different aliases & his security and whoever was around would be the ones to go pick them up.
His three children, originally scheduled for a hearing this morning, has beenpostponed for a week. The move was requested by both Katherine Jackson, who was awarded temporary guardianship, and Debbie Rowe, Jackson's ex-wife and the mother of Prince Michael and Paris Jackson.

Jackson was accused of child sexual abuse of a 13-year-old child named Jordan Chandler and his father Evan Chandler (a dentist). The friendship between Jackson and Evan Chandler broke down. Sometime afterwards, Evan Chandler was tape-recorded saying amongst other things, "If I go through with this, I win big-time. There's no way I lose. I will get everything I want and they will be destroyed forever...Michael's career will be over".
A year after they had met, under the influence of sodium amytal, a controversial sedative that may doctors testifed in saying they do not use the sedative. Anyone under the sodium amytal can be easily swayed and this is in no way a truth serum. Jordan Chandler told his father that Jackson had touched his penisEvan Chandler and Jackson, represented by their legal teams, then engaged in unsuccessful negotiations to resolve the issue in a financial settlement; the negotiations were initiated by Chandler but Jackson did make several counter offers. Jordan Chandler then told a psychiatrist and later police that he and Jackson had engaged in acts of kissing, masturbation and oral sex as well as giving a detailed description of what he alleged were the singer's genitals.
An official investigation began, with Jordan Chandler's mother adamant that there was no wrongdoing on Jackson's part. Neverland Ranch was searched; 30 children (who've spent time at the ranch) spoke up and family members denied that he was a pedophile.
Jackson's image took a further turn for the worse when his older sister Latoya Jackson accused him of being a pedophile. At the time, she told tabloid's that checks were made out to several boys and that she had evidence of sexual abuse on Michael's end but is willing to speak only for she was paid $500,000 for the story. She was disowned by her whole family and she later retracted the statement, claiming that her husband at the time forced her to tell lies in exchange for money.
Jackson agreed to a 25-minute strip search conducted at his ranch. The search was required to see if a description provided by Jordan Chandler was accurate. Doctors concluded that there were some strong similarities, but it was not a definitive match. Jackson made an emotional public statement on the events; he proclaimed his innocence, criticized what he perceived as biased media coverage and told of his strip search.
Jackson began taking painkillers, Valium, Xanax and Ativan to deal with the stress of the allegations made against him. By the fall of 1993, Jackson was addicted to the drugs. His health deteriorated to the extent that he canceled the remainder of the Dangerous World Tour and went into drug rehabilitation for a few months.
The stress of the allegations also caused Jackson to stop eating, and he lost a significant amount of weight. With his health in decline, Jackson's friends and legal advisers took over his defense and finances; they called on him to settle the allegations out of court, believing that he could not endure a lengthy trial.
Tabloid reaction to the allegations put Jackson in an unfavorable light.On January 1, 1994, Jackson settled with the Chandler family and their legal team out of court, in a civil lawsuit for $22 million. I never believed the molestation charges. That was the dawn of tabloid magazines. Beginning with The National Equirer. For God's sake those magazines once said Oprah died! In Billy Mays news, an autopsy was conducted and doctors concluded that he likely died of a heart attack in his sleep, but further tests are needed to be sure of the cause of death, a medical examiner said Monday, despite rumors that claims he died of a concussion when he bumped his head on an object on the Tampa airplane that blew out its front tires on the landing strip the day before and didn't go to the hospital.
Hillsborough County Medical Examiner Vernard Adams said Mays suffered from hypertensive heart disease, and the wall of the left ventricle of Mays' heart and the wall of one of his arteries were enlarged.
"The heart disease is perfectly consistent with sudden death," Adams said.
An official cause of death will be issued after toxicology and other tests are completed in eight to 10 weeks.
Adams said Mays was taking the prescription painkillers Tramadol and hydrocodone for hip pain, but there was no indication of drug abuse.
I am soooo spent and wiped. I'm learning about new pills every damn day with these stories.
An autopsy on Michael's body is underway but results may take days or even weeks.
With or without the results, the cause of his death is slowly coming to the surface and in all honesty, I can'tbelieve it myself.
Reports are saying that the legend died of an overdose on prescription drugs!
The Jackson family attorney, Brian Oxman confirms the speculation saying, "If you think that the case of Anna Nicole Smith was an abuse, it is nothing in comparison to what we have seen in Michael Jackson's life."
A family insider has spoken up about Mike's drug use as well. The source claims that over the past 3 years the Jackson clan had been trying to get Michael to stop taking prescription drugs and even had an intervention with him in Vegas!
Mike got defensive and denied that he was addicted to drugs but no one believed him. His mother and father also tried to convince him to go to a drug rehabilitation center.
Do the stories hold truth??? Another source close to the family claims that he got the drugs from a member of his staff and that MJ's personal physician, who lived with the singer, had connections to these drugs wherever they were.
In addition to alcohol, Michael consumed straight morphine, Demerol, opiates like Oxycontin, Valium and Xanax!
Reports are saying that Michael was taking dailyinjections of Demerol, a synthetic narcotic close to morphine which was administered by his personal doc! Family members believe that the doctor who injects the powerful morphine gave him too much on Thursday at 11:30 AM, which lead to the icon passing away!
LAPD towed the doctor's car away which was in front of MJ's house today and told the media that medications pertinent to the investigation were found inside!! Law enforcement also seized bags of prescription drugs from Michael's Beverly Hills home!!!
What's even worse! The doctor is nowhere to be found! He's gone. Poof. Vanished. Police are searching for this doctor, who's name has not yet been released.
Jackson family attorney Brian Oxman says that he will help the police in any way possible in naming all the doctors who prescribed him the drugs and will reveal Michael's personal doctor's name if the autopsy shows that he did in fact die of an overdose by injection.

Producer Scott Storch has signed on to star in a new reality show that will take place in Miami, Florida, where he resides and it will chronicle his return to the music business.
Scott has major debt under his name. He made an estimated $70 million throughout his career but openly admitting that he spent it all on cocaine (during a 3 year period he spent over $25 million dollars, to sell or sniff though??), other drugs and luxuries. He's missed payments on his $10 million Miami mansion, cars and child support payments up to $46,000 and owes the I.R.S $1 million dollars in back taxes

Ginuwinestopped by the studio a couple of months ago and I was happy to see that he was back with some good ol' R&B music. He had been missing for quite a while but was a staple in the whole 90's R&B Timbo and Missy era.

ESSENCE: On a more serious note, you lost both your parents in 1999 and 2000. How have you been coping?
GINUWINE:After my father shot himself to death and my mother died from cancer less than a year later, I really didn’t want to be here anymore, I didn’t want to live and tried to commit suicide more than once. There was no one around that I really loved at the time, so I turned to the drinking and drugs like weed and ecstasy. I was done mentally and emotionally to the point that I had to go see a psychiatrist, that didn’t do any good because I wasn’t interested. In fact, the two times I visited him I was high. I was depressed and felt like I had nobody to talk to that could relate to me.
ESSENCE:Wow. What was the turning point for you?
GINUWINE: I had one friend who intervened and begged me to get help. Even though I didn’t continue with ny therapy. I went to church and received counseling from my pastor and got straight spiritually. I was able to turn away from all those things that were destroying me and finally think clearly. I had to ask myself whether or not I wanted to go out like my dad and have my kids hurt the way I was hurting. I’ve been clean for about seven years. Now, I keep all that stuff away from me, especially when I’m on the road.
