SWINE FLU RAISED TO HIGHEST LEVEL: WORLD PANDEMIC

Photobucket

The World Health Organization (WHO) held a meeting with their nations and they declared the swine flu a world wide pandemic. This is the first global flu epidemic since 41 years ago!

The WHO decided to raise the pandemic warning level from phase 5 to 6 after holding an emergency meeting on swine flu with its experts. 6 is the highest WHO alert level.

The WHO added that the global pandemic alert for swine flu does not mean the disease is deadlier than previously thought. However, the announcement puts into perspective, the global spread of the disease.

The last pandemic occured in Hong Kong in 1968. It killed about 1 million people. The regular form of flu kills about 250,000-500,000 people a year. So in terms of death, the swine flu hasn't been abundant as far as numbers in deaths.

But do not sleep on this disease. I just found out that there are already 15 deaths reported in NYC.

Be conscious & careful everyone.
