ESPN TRIES TO CHALLENGE SPORTS ILLUSTRATED

ESPN will be debuting their first ESPN The Magazine's: Body Issue this fall.

The issue will hit newsstands on Oct. 19 and it will feature pro, amateur and Olympic athletes posing naked, artfully covered or positioned with sports equipment over their bodies. It's said to be tastefully done while being sports related and isn't in the category of Playboy persay, but will be presented more in an art form. Well of course, since they don't want to offend ESPN's corporate executives over at The Walt Disney Co.

"Disney would have a problem if I turned it into a 1970s porn magazine for that issue," an ESPN spokesperson for the magazine says. "But we're not doing that at all. This is going to be about sports. And sports is about bodies."

The magazine is asking athletes to help rank the "Best Bodies" in sports for the issue and besides having sports' hottest bodies within the pages, the issue will also explore the past, present and future of the athletic world.

Would you buy this over SI????
