The publication says the Brooklyn boss tops the list because he's an industry leader and a top businessman – with ventures including Live Nation, his clothing line Rocawear, and his part-ownership of the New Jersey Nets.
Other Power 30 list-makers include Diddy, Will.i.Am, 50 Cent, Kimora Lee, Lil Wayne, Snoop Dogg, T-Pain.
President Barack Obama also made the list because of his influence on the new hip-hop generation.
